Backcountry-hardy fruit trees at grower prices
A Main Street lot selling bare-root deciduous fruit in winter and container citrus the rest of the year, all of it picked for varieties that take a real Ramona frost and a hundred-degree August. Low-chill apples, pomegranate, fig and jujube move fastest. Prices stay low because the trees are grown out here in the valley rather than trucked in from the coast.
