Cape weed (Arctotheca calendula) is a vigorous, mat-forming groundcover that produces cheerful yellow daisy-like flowers and thrives in full sun to part shade in well-drained soils. It is highly drought-tolerant once established and requires very little supplemental watering or feeding. Note that it can spread aggressively in mild climates outside its native South Africa, so monitor it in garden settings to prevent unwanted spread.
