Alpine gentian
Gentiana nivalis
Alpine gentian is a delicate, vivid blue-flowered alpine plant that thrives in cool, sunny mountain environments and is a challenge to grow outside its native habitat. It requires gritty, well-drained but consistently moist soil with excellent drainage, replicating alpine scree conditions as closely as possible. This plant is best suited to experienced gardeners or alpine rock garden enthusiasts and does not tolerate heat, humidity, or waterlogged roots.
