Alpine milk-vetch is a low-growing perennial legume native to alpine and subarctic regions, best suited to rock gardens and naturalized wildflower areas with cool climates. It fixes nitrogen in the soil, making it a beneficial companion plant, and produces delicate violet-blue pea-like flowers in summer. Plant in well-drained, lean soil in partial shade to full sun and water regularly but avoid waterlogging.
