Arrowleaf balsamroot is a striking western North American native with large, arrow-shaped leaves and bold yellow sunflower-like blooms in spring. It thrives in full sun with excellent drainage and is highly drought tolerant once its deep taproot is established, making it ideal for xeric or rock gardens. Avoid transplanting mature plants as the taproot is easily disturbed; it is best grown from seed sown in place.
