Astragalus purshii var. glareosus

Pursh's woollypod milkvetch is a specialist native perennial best suited to rocky, well-drained soils in its Pacific Northwest and Great Basin homeland. It thrives in open sunny to partly shaded slopes and requires minimal fertilization due to its nitrogen-fixing roots. This plant is extremely challenging to cultivate outside its native habitat and is best appreciated in native plant gardens or restoration projects.
