Astrantia
Astrantia major
Astrantia major, or masterwort, is a beautiful cottage-garden perennial prized for its intricate pincushion-like flowers in shades of white, pink, and red that bloom from late spring through summer. It prefers cool, moist, humus-rich soil in partial shade and benefits from regular watering during dry spells. Deadhead spent flowers to extend the blooming period and divide clumps every 3-4 years to maintain vigour.
