Australian blackthorn is a tough, adaptable shrub that thrives in well-drained soils with partial shade to full sun and minimal watering once established. Its thorny branches provide excellent habitat for small birds and its fragrant white flowers attract bees and butterflies in summer. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and remove dead wood.
