Bald-cypress is a tough, deciduous conifer that thrives in moist to wet soils and full sun, making it ideal for rain gardens, pond edges, or large landscapes. Once established it requires very little supplemental watering and tolerates periodic flooding as well as occasional drought. Its feathery, soft needles turn a beautiful russet-orange in autumn before dropping, providing year-round interest.
