Bastard cress

Bastard cress (field pennycress) is a hardy, fast-growing annual or short-lived perennial that thrives in disturbed soils, roadsides, and garden beds with very little care needed. It produces small white flowers followed by distinctive flat, winged seed pods, and is commonly found growing as a weed across temperate regions worldwide. While not a typical ornamental, it has value in cover cropping, bioremediation, and as an edible forage plant with a peppery flavor.
