Beach-heath

Beach-heath is a delicate, low-growing native shrublet that thrives in sandy, nutrient-poor soils along dunes and open pine barrens. It requires very well-drained to dry conditions and should never be planted in heavy or clay soils, as it is prone to root rot with excess moisture. Once established in the right environment, it is quite self-sufficient and rewards gardeners with cheerful yellow flowers in late spring.
