Beggar-ticks is a fast-growing annual wildflower that thrives in moist, disturbed soils along stream banks, roadsides, and garden edges, making it useful for naturalizing wet areas. It produces small yellow flowers attractive to pollinators before setting barbed seeds that disperse on clothing and animal fur. Manage its prolific self-seeding by deadheading spent flowers if you wish to limit its spread.
