Beggar-ticks is a vigorous, fast-growing plant that adapts easily to a wide range of soils and light conditions, making it very easy to establish. It has a long history of medicinal use in tropical and subtropical regions and attracts a variety of pollinators. Note that its barbed seeds cling to clothing and animal fur, so site it away from pathways or areas where spread is undesirable.
