Black spleenwort is an elegant, glossy-fronded fern that thrives in shaded to partially shaded spots with consistently moist, well-drained soil. It adapts well to indoor growing in a bright bathroom or sheltered shady corner, as long as humidity remains moderate and the roots never dry out completely. Avoid direct sun and standing water, and feed lightly during the growing season to keep fronds looking their best.
