Blue mountain buckwheat is a tough, low-maintenance native perennial that thrives in well-drained, rocky or sandy soils with minimal supplemental watering once established. Plant it in a sunny to partly shaded spot and avoid overwatering, as it naturally adapts to dry western conditions. It produces attractive clusters of small flowers that are excellent for supporting native pollinators.
