Bramble vetch is a vigorous climbing perennial legume that fixes nitrogen in the soil, making it a valuable addition to any wildlife or cottage garden. It performs best in well-drained to average soil with partial shade and requires a trellis or neighbouring shrubs to scramble through. Once established it is largely self-sufficient and benefits from a cut-back after flowering.
