Branched bur-reed is an aquatic marginal plant best suited to pond edges, streams, or constructed wetlands where its roots can remain submerged or saturated year-round. It prefers full sun to light shade and requires no supplemental watering as long as water levels are maintained. This robust, low-maintenance plant provides excellent wildlife habitat and naturalises readily in water gardens.
