Brittlebush
Encelia farinosa
Brittlebush is a stunning desert native that produces a brilliant display of yellow daisy-like flowers atop silver-gray aromatic foliage in late winter and spring. It thrives in full sun and extremely well-drained soils, requiring very little water once established — overwatering is the most common mistake. Cut back spent stems after flowering to keep the plant tidy and encourage fresh silvery growth through the warmer months.
