Broadbeard beardtongue is a tough, fast-growing prairie perennial that thrives in well-drained soils with minimal supplemental water once established. Plant in a sunny to partly shaded spot and avoid overwatering, as soggy soils can cause root rot. It rewards low-maintenance gardeners with showy tubular blue to lavender flowers that attract hummingbirds and pollinators throughout early summer.
