Bulbous rush
Juncus bulbosus
Bulbous rush is a compact, moisture-loving perennial that is ideal for bog gardens, pond margins, and rain gardens where the soil stays reliably wet or waterlogged. It forms low tufted clumps and thrives in acidic, nutrient-poor conditions, requiring very little care once established. It is especially suited to naturalising in wet habitats and adds fine texture to water-edge plantings.
