Burnet rose
Rosa spinosissima
Burnet rose is a compact, hardy shrub rose valued for its delicate creamy-white flowers, dark hips, and exceptional tolerance of poor, sandy soils and coastal winds. Plant in a sunny to partly shaded spot with well-drained soil and minimal fertilisation to keep it vigorous. Once established it needs little attention, making it an excellent choice for naturalistic or wildlife-friendly gardens.
