Camassia quamash subsp. intermedia

Common camas is a beautiful Pacific Northwest native bulb that produces stunning spikes of blue-violet flowers in late spring, naturalized easily in moist meadow or garden settings. Plant bulbs in fall in rich, moisture-retentive soil in a sunny to partly shaded location, and allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering. It is an excellent pollinator plant and historically significant as a food source for Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest.
