Camassia quamash subsp. maxima

Great camas maxima is a robust, large-flowered subspecies native to the wet meadows and prairies of the Pacific Northwest, known for its impressive spikes of deep blue-violet blooms in spring. Plant bulbs in moist, fertile, well-drained to seasonally wet soil in a partly shaded to sunny spot and water regularly throughout the spring growing season. It is an outstanding choice for rain gardens, native plant borders, and pollinator habitats in the Pacific Northwest.
