Camassia quamash subsp. quamash

Common camas is a historically significant native bulb of the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain regions, producing stunning spikes of blue-violet flowers in spring. Plant bulbs in fall in moist, humus-rich soil in full sun to partial shade, and keep the soil consistently moist during the growing season. It naturalizes beautifully in rain gardens and meadow plantings and requires very little care once established.
