Carphephorus paniculatus

Hairy chaffhead is a native southeastern US wildflower that produces fluffy, lavender-pink flower clusters beloved by pollinators in late summer and fall. It thrives in moist to average, well-drained soils in part shade to full sun and requires little maintenance once established. This under-used native perennial is an excellent choice for naturalistic gardens, rain garden edges, or wildlife plantings in the Coastal Plain.
