Island big-pod ceanothus is a large, evergreen California native shrub endemic to the Channel Islands, prized for its clusters of white flowers and wildlife value. It thrives in well-drained, sandy or rocky soils in full sun to part shade and becomes very drought tolerant once established. Avoid summer irrigation and heavy clay soils, which can be fatal to this species.
