Ciliate melic is an elegant, clump-forming ornamental grass with distinctive feathery spikelets that are highly attractive in borders and dry rocky gardens. It grows best in partial shade to full sun and is tolerant of poor, well-drained soils once established. Minimal care is needed beyond occasional trimming of old growth in late winter.
