Clermontia arborescens subsp. arborescens

Hawaiian lobelioid tree is a critically rare endemic shrub or small tree found only in Hawaii's native rainforest understory, making it extremely difficult to cultivate outside of specialized botanical collections. It requires high humidity, consistently moist acidic soils, and dappled shade that mimics its native forest habitat. This species is primarily of conservation significance and is not suitable for typical home gardens.
