Common-heath is Australia's floral emblem for Victoria and produces beautiful tubular flowers in shades of pink, red, or white. It prefers acidic, well-draining soils and dislikes alkaline conditions and heavy clay, making soil preparation critical before planting. Water with rainwater when possible and avoid phosphorus-rich fertilizers, which are toxic to this and most Ericaceae family members.
