Crataegus erythropoda

Crataegus erythropoda, commonly known as the cerro hawthorn, is a slow-growing small tree or large shrub native to the Rocky Mountain states. Once established it is quite adaptable and low-maintenance, tolerating a range of soil types and producing attractive white spring flowers followed by red haws beloved by birds. Prune in late winter to shape and remove crossing branches, and enjoy its multi-season interest from bloom to berry.
