Honesty (Lunaria annua) is a cottage garden classic grown for its pretty purple flowers in spring and its striking, translucent silver seed pods that persist through winter and are prized in dried floral arrangements. It grows easily in partial shade to full sun with average, well-drained soil and very little fuss once established. Allow some plants to set seed after flowering so it naturalises and returns year after year.
