Desert ash is a medium to large deciduous tree well-suited to temperate gardens, parks, and streetscapes, tolerating a wide range of soils including clay and alkaline conditions. Provide full sun to partial shade and regular water during its first two growing seasons to establish a strong root system; mature trees become quite drought-resilient. Prune during dormancy to maintain shape and remove any crossing or damaged branches.
