Dwarf azalea is a compact, deciduous native shrub prized for its fragrant white to pale pink flowers that appear in spring before the leaves fully emerge. Plant it in acidic (pH 4.5–6.0), well-drained, humus-rich soil in partial shade to prevent leaf scorch. Mulch heavily around the base to retain moisture and keep roots cool, and avoid overwatering as this species is sensitive to root rot.
