Early hair grass

Early hair grass (Aira praecox) is a delicate, fine-textured annual grass that thrives in sandy, well-drained, and nutrient-poor soils in sun to partial shade. It is one of the earliest grasses to flower in spring, producing tiny silvery spikelets that catch the light beautifully. Ideal for naturalistic plantings, dry garden edges, or sandy meadow mixes, it requires very little care once sown.
