Eriogonum umbellatum var. ellipticum

Eriogonum umbellatum var. ellipticum is a compact, mat-forming buckwheat native to the Pacific Northwest mountains, producing cheerful clusters of yellow flowers that age to rusty orange over summer. Plant it in well-drained, gravelly or sandy soil in a rock garden or native plant border where it will thrive with little intervention. Once established, this slow-growing perennial is very low maintenance and highly attractive to native pollinators.
