European beach grass
Ammophila arenaria
European beach grass is a robust, deep-rooted perennial grass perfectly suited for sandy, coastal, or erosion-prone sites where it stabilises soil with its extensive rhizome system. It thrives in full sun, tolerates salt spray, and requires very little supplemental watering once established. Note that it can become invasive outside its native European range, so check local regulations before planting.
