European centaury
Centaurium erythraea
European centaury is a charming wildflower with a long history of medicinal use, producing clusters of small pink blooms in summer when grown in a sunny to partly shaded spot with well-drained soil. It is quite drought tolerant once established and needs very little fertilizing or fussing. This plant is best suited to cottage gardens, meadow borders, or naturalized areas where it can self-seed gently.
