European sanicle
Sanicula europaea
European sanicle is a shade-loving woodland perennial ideal for planting beneath trees or in shaded borders where few other plants thrive. It prefers consistently moist, humus-rich soil and rewards patience with delicate white flower clusters in early summer that attract small pollinators. Historically valued as a medicinal herb, it makes an excellent ground-cover choice for naturalistic woodland gardens.
