Feather-plume is a tough, drought-adapted shrub native to the American Southwest that produces charming purple-pink flowers and feathery seed plumes with minimal care. Plant it in full sun in well-drained, sandy or rocky soil and water only occasionally once established. It is an excellent choice for xeric landscapes, native plant gardens, and attracting pollinators in dry climates.
