Fernbush is a tough, aromatic shrub native to the western US that thrives in well-drained soils with minimal irrigation once established. Plant in a sunny to partly shaded spot and water deeply but infrequently to encourage deep root growth. It requires little pruning or fertilizing, making it an excellent low-maintenance choice for xeriscape and native gardens.
