Allium oleraceum
Field garlic is a hardy perennial bulb whose slender leaves and bulbils have a mild garlic-onion flavour and can be used as a culinary herb in salads and cooked dishes. It grows well in average, well-drained soil in partial shade and naturalises easily in borders or herb gardens. Plant bulbs in autumn and divide clumps every few years to maintain vigour.
