Forked spleenwort

Forked spleenwort is a compact, unusual fern with narrow, forked fronds that colonises rock crevices and shaded walls in the wild, making it a fascinating choice for rock gardens or alpine troughs. It prefers partial shade, excellent drainage, and slightly alkaline, gritty soil; avoid rich composts and consistently wet conditions. It is slow to establish but long-lived and surprisingly tolerant once settled.
