Native to California and Nevada, this buckwheat variety performs best in well-drained, sandy or gravelly soils with partial shade in hot, dry climates. Once established, it requires very little care beyond occasional deep watering during prolonged dry spells. It is an excellent choice for pollinator gardens and habitat restoration projects in the Great Basin region.
