Fragaria chiloensis subsp. pacifica

Pacific beach strawberry is a tough, spreading native groundcover that produces small white flowers and tiny edible-looking berries along the Pacific Coast. It spreads by runners to form a dense mat, making it excellent for erosion control on slopes or in coastal gardens. Plant in part shade with regular water until established, after which it becomes quite resilient.
