Fringed gentian
Gentianopsis ciliata
Fringed gentian is a challenging plant best suited to experienced gardeners who can replicate its native alpine meadow conditions with consistent moisture and cool temperatures. Plant in well-drained, slightly alkaline soil in a location receiving partial shade, especially during hot afternoon hours. Avoid disturbing the roots once established, and do not allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
