Garden myrrh
Myrrhis odorata
Garden myrrh is a sweetly anise-scented herb with ferny foliage and white umbel flowers, valued both as a culinary plant and an ornamental. It thrives in partial shade to full sun with moist, well-drained soil and is very easy to grow once established in a suitable spot. All parts of the plant are edible and carry a pleasant liquorice flavour, making it a rewarding addition to herb gardens and cottage plantings.
