Genista scorpius is a spiny, drought-adapted shrub native to Spain, France, and Morocco, suited to hot, dry, sunny positions with poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Once established it requires minimal watering and care, making it an excellent choice for Mediterranean-style or xeric gardens. Its bright yellow flowers attract bees and butterflies in spring.
