Geum vernum

Spring avens is a delicate native perennial that produces cheerful small yellow flowers in spring, making it ideal for shaded woodland gardens and naturalized areas. It grows best in moist, humus-rich soil under the dappled shade of deciduous trees. Once established it is largely self-sufficient, spreading gently to form attractive low ground cover.
