Goat's-beard is a stately shade-loving perennial that produces large, elegant plumes of creamy-white flowers in early summer, resembling an oversized astilbe. It thrives in moist, humus-rich soil in partial to full shade, making it an excellent choice for woodland gardens or shady borders. This low-maintenance plant needs little care once established — simply cut back the old stems in late autumn.
