Grimmia pulvinata, commonly known as grey-cushion moss, forms compact silvery-green cushions on rocks, walls, and stone surfaces in cool, partially shaded environments. It is remarkably tolerant of drying out and will rehydrate and resume growth after rainfall. This moss requires no feeding, very little water management, and is best left undisturbed once established.
